Ask, Answer Commands

Projects: See if you can do this yourself

    The Greeting Program

1. Create a program that asks their name and their gender (Male or Female) and greets them with "Mr" or "Mrs" and their name. Then it asks what grade they are in. Then use if statements to  greet them by name and have a special or custom greeting for every class

For example you say:

"Welcome Jack, you are a fellow classmate" to 9th graders
"Hello Sam, you are only a 10th grader" to 10th graders
"Hey you - Sally, you are cool" to 11th graders and
"Bye Wally, you will be leaving soon" to 12th graders

(or what ever greetings you want)

     Turn in the livecode file.

Then try one of the following:
  1. Ask the first name, ask the middle initial then the last name then print their full name on one line ("Willy W. Wonka")
  2. Ask their first and last names, then make 2 buttons - 1 that prints first, then last name (Willy Wonka) and another button that prints last name, comma, then first name (Wonka, Willy)
  3. Ask their name, class year, and age. Then print their name, class year, and age in one sentence.
  4. Ask what class they are in, then tell them what year they will graduate. ("Willy, you are in the class of 2020")
  5. Ask how old someone is, then print out the year they were born
  6. Ask what year they were born in, then print their age
  7. ...any suggestions?
